Man Drowns in Burdur Irrigation Dam While Fishing
Tragedy Strikes at Ali Kılcı Dam in Burdur
A fishing trip turned into a tragedy at the Ali Kılcı Dam in the Karaçal village of Burdur city center. The incident occurred around 22:00 when Mehmet Uysal (46) lost his balance and fell into the dam while fishing with his son and a friend.
According to reports, Uysal had arrived at the dam earlier in the evening with his son and friend İ. S. for a fishing outing. After İ. S. left to go to the market, Uysal and his son continued fishing. Tragically, Uysal suddenly fell into the dam, prompting his son to call for help.
People in the vicinity who heard the child’s cries quickly alerted the authorities by calling the 112 Emergency Call Center. Response teams from AFAD, health, and the gendarmerie rushed to the scene to assist. AFAD diver teams were able to locate Uysal in the dam during their search and bring him to shore.
Despite efforts to save him, health teams confirmed that Uysal had passed away. The prosecutor and gendarmerie crime scene investigation teams conducted their work, and Uysal’s body was taken to the Burdur State Hospital Morgue for an autopsy.
