Man falls on construction site while helping pedestrian he hit.
Four people were injured in a car accident that occurred in Güldibi Mahallesi of Izmit Street at night. According to the reports, a 21-year-old driver, Alaattin Aydın, crashed into a 73-year-old woman named Adile Balcı, who was crossing the road. The incident happened when Aydın’s car was heading towards Izmit. Due to the speeding car, Balcı was thrown into a construction site which was about three meters deep on the side of the road. Aydın tried to assist the injured woman but ended up getting injured himself when he fell while trying to climb down to the construction site. After the accident, two other cars, one with license plate 54 SA 275 driven by İrfan Deveci (22) and another with license plate number 06 JB 066 driven by İsmail Şirin (22), were also involved in the accident. This resulted in two more passengers, Seval Şirin (24) and Sinem Şirin (25), getting injured.
Upon receiving the emergency calls, the health, fire, and police teams rushed to the scene. With the help of firefighters, the two people who had fallen on the construction site were rescued. All of the injured were then taken to Sapanca State Hospital for medical attention. It has been reported that Adile Balcı’s health condition is severe.
An investigation has been initiated regarding the cause of the accident. The incident is an unfortunate reminder to always drive safely and be considerate of pedestrians and other drivers on the road.
