Man Free Climbs 555-Meter Building, Gets Caught on 74th Floor

The Dangerous Trend of Building Climbers in Social Media
The world of social media has seen a new trend recently that has caused concern and criticism. Known as “Build Climbers”, this trend involves individuals climbing tall buildings without any form of protection or safety gear. Videos of people engaging in this activity have been shared widely on social media, showcasing individuals scaling skyscrapers and resting precariously on small ledges.
While the videos may be thrilling and garner millions of views, the lack of safety precautions used by these individuals has been a source of concern for many. Recently, a British tourist climbed the 123-floor Lotte World Tower in South Korea, which is the fifth-tallest building in the world, standing at 555 meters. The individual managed to get all the way up to the 72nd floor before being apprehended by guards who used a crane to assist in the rescue.
The climber, identified as Thompson, has a history of this kind of behavior, having previously climbed the London Bridge, for which he was sentenced to six months in prison. The judge in that case deemed his actions as dangerous as they could potentially incite and make it easier for malicious individuals to coordinated an attack on tall buildings.
This kind of behavior is a clear threat to public safety, and authorities urge people not to engage in it. Climbing tall buildings without appropriate safety gear puts not only the individual but also the general public at risk. While social media trends can be entertaining, we must ensure we do not engage in activities that can have life-threatening repercussions.
