Man in Ordu Injures Police Officer with Chair during Legal Dispute with Grandson

An altercation between a motorcycle driver and a police officer in Ünye district resulted in the injury of the officer after being struck with a chair by the driver’s grandfather.

The incident occurred at around 13.30 in the Hanboğazı location of Liseler Neighborhood when District Police Department Traffic Bureau teams stopped a motorcycle driver for not having a driver’s license or helmet. The driver, identified as AAD, was revealed to be only 15 years old.

As the police officer, Erol G., took action against the underage driver, an argument ensued between AAD’s grandfather, Abdullah D., who owns a nearby coffeehouse, and Erol G. Abdullah D. resisted and ended up injuring the police officer by hitting him in the head with a chair. In response, Erol G. fired a warning shot into the air.

Upon receiving a report of the incident, 112 Emergency health teams rushed to the scene and provided first aid to Erol G. before transporting him to Ünye State Hospital. Fortunately, Erol G.’s health condition was reported to be stable.

Following the altercation, Abdullah D. and his grandson AAD were both detained for their involvement in the incident. Investigations are ongoing to determine the appropriate legal actions to be taken against the parties involved.
