Man Throws Eggs at King Charles in England: Sentenced for the Crime
A man who threw eggs at King Charles III of England has been found guilty of threatening behavior by the British Crown Prosecution Service (CPS). Patrick Thelwell, a 23-year-old man, was sentenced to 12 months of community service, including 100 hours of unpaid work after his hearing at York Magistrates’ Court. The court stated that Thelwell showed no remorse after his arrest and stated his intention of attacking the King with eggs. The Head of CPS’ Special Crime and Counter-Terrorism Division, Nick Price, said that such threatening behavior is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
In November, when the King and his wife Camilla were visiting the city of York in the north of England for a traditional ceremony, Thelwell attacked the couple with eggs. However, it was seen that the eggs did not hit King Charles and Camilla when they fell to the ground. Thelwell’s actions were met with severe criticism, and his sentencing has served as a warning that such behavior towards the royal family will not be tolerated.
