Man’s Abdominal Pain Reveals Surprising Objects Inside
A mentally disabled woman in Mersin’s Erdemli district underwent a successful surgery to remove approximately 1 kilo of nails, rebar, and other metal objects from her stomach. The woman, identified only as AK, had complained of abdominal pain and was taken to Erdemli State Hospital for examination.
During the examination, it was discovered that AK had ingested a variety of metal objects, including necklaces and buckles. Dr. Can Terzier, the general surgeon who led the operation, and his team immediately took AK into surgery to remove the foreign objects from her stomach.
Following the surgery, Dr. Terzier confirmed that the procedure was successful and AK’s health condition is currently stable. He emphasized the importance of not leaving patients with mental disabilities alone and urged their relatives to be vigilant in ensuring their safety.
The incident serves as a reminder of the need for proper supervision and care for individuals with mental disabilities to prevent similar situations from occurring in the future.
