A Family’s Lucky Escape After Car Falls Into Ditch in Elazığ
In a harrowing incident in Elazığ, a car carrying 7 members of the same family veered off the road and fell into a ditch after the driver lost control. The accident took place on the Sakabaşı village road, located 40 kilometers from the city center.
The Tofaş brand car, with the license plate 23 ABT 211, was being driven by İ.A. towards Sarıtaş village when the driver lost control of the steering wheel, causing the vehicle to plunge into the ditch. Miraculously, the car got entangled on a terrace that had been opened for planting saplings, preventing it from rolling down a cliff that was tens of meters high.
The family members in the car sustained injuries in the accident. Thankfully, the terrace acted as a barrier, saving them from a potential disaster. Witnesses quickly reported the incident, prompting the dispatch of numerous ambulances, AFAD, and gendarmerie teams to the scene. The injured individuals received initial medical treatment on site before being transported to various hospitals in the city for further care.
Following the accident, gendarmerie teams initiated an investigation to determine the exact circumstances that led to the car losing control. The outcome of the investigation will shed light on the cause of the incident and help prevent similar tragedies in the future.
