Mass Arrests in Izmir as FETO Operation Unfolds
The Izmir Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office has made significant progress in the fight against the FETO/PDY armed terrorist organization. As part of their ongoing investigations, 20 individuals who have been identified as members of the organization, and have been found to have used ByLock, as well as engaging in suspicious transactions through Bank Asya, have been located.
In response to this breakthrough, the Anti-Smuggling Crimes Branch Directorate launched coordinated operations at 23 different addresses in Izmir. As a result of these operations, 15 suspects were apprehended in Izmir, Menemen, Torbalı, and Istanbul.
Further efforts to apprehend the remaining suspects are underway, with four individuals believed to be abroad and one fugitive still at large. The 15 detainees are currently in police custody and are undergoing processing.
