Police Raid Uncovers Massive Synthetic Drug Operation in Istanbul
A major synthetic drug operation was uncovered in Istanbul, following an investigation by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office. Narcotics Crime Branch Directorate teams conducted a raid at an address in Bayrampaşa suspected of being involved in drug trafficking.
During the operation, authorities seized a large quantity of illegal substances, including 1.79 million ready-to-sell synthetic pharmaceutical pills, 1.2 million printed pills, 1.53 million printed synthetic pharmaceutical pills, 320 kilograms of additives, 1.8 million empty capsules, 5 machines used in the production of synthetic drugs, as well as a substantial amount of cash totaling 20,550 pounds and 300 dollars.
As a result of the operation, three suspects were detained by law enforcement officials. The investigation into the synthetic drug operation is ongoing, as authorities work to dismantle the network responsible for manufacturing and distributing illegal substances in the region.
