Mattia Ahmetin’s Family Makes Emotional Live Broadcast Debut

Emotional Moments Unfold on Live Broadcast as Mattia Ahmet’s Grieving Family Speaks Out
In a heart-wrenching appearance on the “What’s Happening Life” program on Kanal D, Italian chef Andrea Minguzzi and cellist Yasemin Akincilar, parents of 14-year-old Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi, who tragically lost his life in a knife attack in Istanbul, shared their grief for the first time.
Andrea Minguzzi, who has been living in Turkey for 17 years, expressed disbelief at the devastating turn of events, stating that they never expected such a tragedy to befall their family. Recounting the moment he received the harrowing news over the phone, he tearfully admitted, “We rushed to the hospital, but by the time we arrived, my son was already in a coma. I couldn’t bear to see those images of the stabbing.”
The grieving father, unable to contain his emotions, called for justice, declaring, “Those who stabbed my son five times in the heart cannot be considered children. They must receive the harshest punishment.”
Describing Mattia Ahmet as a symbol against violence in Turkey, Andrea Minguzzi vowed to continue fighting for justice on behalf of his beloved son, whom he described as an angel and a victim of society’s failings. He expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support and solidarity from the Turkish people during this difficult time.
Yasemin Akincilar, Mattia Ahmet’s mother, also joined the live broadcast, her anguish palpable as she spoke about the profound loss of her son. Refusing to leave his side during his two-week struggle for life in the hospital, she revealed, “I feel like a walking corpse, but I will not rest until justice is served. Ahmet may not return to us, but I will fight for all children who deserve a safer world.”
Calling for the perpetrators of her son’s murder to face the full extent of the law, Yasemin Akincilar emphasized, “The killer is a monster. They do not deserve leniency. I want them to suffer inside, never to see the light of day again.”
Through tears, she shared memories of her “angel” son, referring to him as her flower and lamenting the shattered happiness of their once blissful family of three. Yasemin Akincilar’s powerful words resonated with viewers, as she vowed to ensure that Mattia Ahmet’s legacy serves as a call to action for a safer and more compassionate world.
