Verstappen Wins US Grand Prix for Third Consecutive Time, Extends Championship Lead
Max Verstappen secured his third consecutive world championship title at the US Grand Prix held at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas. The race, spanning 56 laps on the 5,513-kilometer track, witnessed Verstappen’s dominance in securing the first position.
In a thrilling contest, Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes took the second spot on the podium, while Lando Norris representing McLaren clinched the third position. Verstappen’s victory in the US further solidifies his championship campaign, adding to his recent triumph in Qatar.
This season, Verstappen has triumphed in 15 races, with Red Bull’s Sergio Perez securing two wins and Carlos Sainz of Ferrari claiming one victory. Unfortunately, adverse weather conditions led to the cancellation of the sixth leg, the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix.
Fans can anticipate the upcoming Mexican Grand Prix, the 20th race of the championship, scheduled for October 29. As the championship standings stand following the US Grand Prix, the top five positions in both the drivers’ and teams’ categories are as follows:
