
May’s Most Significant Price Changes Revealed

Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) has released the latest data on retail prices in the city for the month of May. According to the Istanbul Wage Earners Living Index of ITO, the prices of various products have seen fluctuations.
Out of the 242 products considered, the retail prices of 147 products have increased, while 21 products have experienced a decrease in prices. The prices of 74 products have remained unchanged during this period.
One of the notable increases was seen in the price of bridge toll, which belongs to the transportation and communication expenditures group, with a significant 60 percent increase. Additionally, prices of scientific and literary books, city tap water, women’s underwear, fresh and dry vegetables, fruits like lemon, household items like iron, men’s underwear, pumpkin, and chocolate have all seen notable increases in prices.
On the other hand, the price of green pepper has shown the most significant decrease, with a decrease of 44.57 percent. Other products that have seen price decreases include plums, green beans, tomatoes, peas, and lettuce.
