Meeting between President of Turkmenistan and Head of Tatarstan Republic of Russia
President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, recently met with the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation, Rustam Minnikhanov, during a working visit to Kazan on October 24, 2024.
During the meeting, both leaders highlighted the strong and progressive nature of Turkmen-Tatar relations, which are based on historical friendship and are actively developing across various fields. President Berdimuhamedov expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and hospitality extended to him in Kazan, emphasizing the importance of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation, particularly with the Republic of Tatarstan.
The discussions between the two leaders focused on priority issues of the Turkmen-Tatarstan partnership, emphasizing the significance of regular meetings and contacts at the highest level to ensure effective bilateral cooperation. During the meeting, President Berdimuhamedov was honored with the Order of the Republic of Tatarstan “Duslyk” for his special contribution to strengthening friendship and cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Tatarstan, as well as other subjects of the Russian Federation. The ceremony was held in a solemn atmosphere, with Rais Minnikhanov presenting the prestigious award to President Berdimuhamedov.
In response, President Berdimuhamedov expressed his gratitude for the honor and noted that the award symbolizes the high level of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Tatarstan, an important aspect of the Turkmen-Russian strategic partnership.
