Meeting between Turkmenistan’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and the New UNICEF Representative in Turkmenistan
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Myahri Byashimova, recently met with the new Head of the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Office in Turkmenistan, Jalpa Ratna on June 28, 2024. During their meeting, both parties discussed the development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and UNICEF.
Byashimova congratulated Ratna on her appointment and expressed her best wishes for success in her mission. The diplomats acknowledged the existing high level of interaction between Turkmenistan and UNICEF and agreed on further enhancing their collaboration.
The discussion also focused on the implementation of the UNICEF Country Programme for Turkmenistan for 2021-2025, which aims to address issues related to child health, nutrition, education, and social protection. Both parties explored opportunities to strengthen their cooperation, improve the legal framework, and work on joint projects in these priority areas.
Ratna expressed her willingness to deepen and expand partnership relations in various areas of mutual interest.
