Mehmetçik’s Precision Accuracy in “Fire Free
The Distinguished Observer Day of the “Free Fire-2024” activity was a remarkable event that showcased the firepower and effectiveness of the Turkish Armed Forces. The event, which was attended by top military officials including Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler and Chief of General Staff General Metin Gürak, aimed to demonstrate the deterrence capabilities of the armed forces and improve coordination among different units.
A total of 995 personnel from force commands and Special Forces Command participated in the joint activity, which featured an impressive display of firepower. The event included the participation of F-16 warplanes, ATAK attack helicopters, and a variety of weapons and weapon systems. The activity took place at the General Nahit Şenoğlu Shooting and Exercise Zone in Ankara’s Polatlı district.
One of the highlights of the event was the demonstration of the accuracy and effectiveness of domestically produced national infantry rifles and sniper rifles. Sniper teams showcased their skills by hitting targets at distances of 600 meters and one kilometer. The precision shots made by the snipers were met with admiration by all attendees.
Following the sniper demonstrations, machine gun shots were carried out with targets successfully destroyed by specially trained personnel. The event also featured the use of SARP weapon systems, grenade launchers, and anti-tank shots, all of which hit their targets with full accuracy.
The activity culminated with a display of firepower from helicopters, including CH-47 Chinook transport helicopters and ATAK attack helicopters firing a variety of missiles. Two F-16 warplanes also participated in the event, firing at separate targets with precision.
Overall, the “Free Fire-2024” activity showcased the incredible firepower and capabilities of the Turkish Armed Forces. The exhibition included a variety of weapons and systems, including the new generation Fırtına howitzer produced with national resources. The event was attended by military officials, officers, non-commissioned officer basic trainees, and military students, who were able to witness firsthand the impressive firepower of the Turkish Armed Forces.
