Metehan Circle Civil Defense Circle Route to Open to Traffic on Friday Morning

Road construction works will bring changes to traffic flow between the Metehan Circle and the Civil Defence Circle in Nicosia starting Friday. The closed Metehan Circle-Civil Defense Circle departure route will reopen on Friday morning, while the Civil Defense Circle-Metehan Circle departure route will be closed to traffic due to the construction work that is set to begin.

The Nicosia Turkish Municipality (LTB) issued a statement regarding the traffic flow changes between the two circles, as part of the road and infrastructure development works for the Presidency and Parliament Campus.

According to the statement, the Metehan Circle, which has been under construction since July 3, will open to traffic towards the Ortaköy region (Civil Defense Circle) on Friday morning. However, the double-lane road from the Ortaköy Civil Defense Circle to Metehan and Mehmet Akif Street (Dereboyu) will be closed from 07:00 on Friday, July 26, until Monday, August 26. Drivers heading from the Civil Defense Circle to Metehan and Mehmet Akif Street will be redirected to the opposite lane through a temporary route on the circle to reach the Metehan Circle.

For drivers traveling from the Metehan Circle to the Ortaköy Civil Defense Circle, the road will remain open with limited access as a single lane. Motorists are advised to follow traffic warnings and directions carefully during the construction period.

Stay informed and plan your route accordingly to avoid any potential delays or road closures in the affected area. Let’s all cooperate to ensure a smooth traffic flow during this period of road works and development in Nicosia.
