Watch out for these hours! Hot weather warning from Meteorology
The Meteorology department has issued a warning for the days between Tuesday, July 11 and Sunday, July 16. The warning states the following:
According to the latest evaluations, our country is expected to be affected by a heat wave starting from the western parts on Tuesday, July 11, 2023. From the middle of the week, temperatures are expected to rise 5-10 degrees above seasonal norms in the Marmara, Aegean, and Mediterranean regions, and 2-6 degrees in other regions.
Here are the expected temperatures (in oC) in some of our provinces in the coming days:
Ankara: 31-35
Istanbul: 32-36
Izmir: 36-40
Edirne: 37-41
Canakkale: 36-39
Mugla: 36-40
Adana: 38-42
Antalya: 37-43
Kayseri: 30-32
Due to the heat wave, it is important for our citizens, especially those with chronic diseases, elderly people, and children living in the Marmara, Aegean, and Mediterranean Regions, to be careful and cautious between 11 and 16 hours, which are the hottest hours of the day.
There are possible risks of sunstroke in such high temperatures. It is advised to take precautions and follow the sunstroke protection methods.
