Metin Atan Re-elected as Chairman at Kamusen 29th General Assembly – BRTK
The Turkish Cypriot Public Servants’ Union (Kamusen) recently held its 29th Ordinary General Assembly, where Metin Atan was re-elected as president. The meeting, which took place at the Concorde Hotel, was attended by various prominent figures including CTP Chairman Tufan Erhürman, LTB Chairman Mehmet Harmancı, TDP Chairman Zeki Çeler, and Rights-Labor Confederation President Mahmut Arslan.
During his opening speech, President Metin Atan emphasized Kamusen’s commitment to protecting the rights of its employees and advancing them in line with the country’s conditions. He also highlighted Kamusen’s dedication to safeguarding the existence of the TRNC and addressing key issues such as informality, judicial incidents, tax injustice, and the sale of land to foreign nationals.
Hak-İş Confederation President Mahmut Arslan expressed the growing cooperation between Kamusen and the Hak-İş Federation, emphasizing their joint efforts to support workers and advocate for justice in the region. Arslan called for the lifting of isolations on the TRNC and stressed the importance of international recognition for the country.
The General Assembly also saw the presentation of the Annual Report and Financial Report, as well as the election of the Board of Management, Audit, and Disciplinary Board members. The event concluded with a renewed commitment to strengthening Kamusen’s position in international unionization efforts.
Overall, the 29th Ordinary General Assembly of Kamusen was a successful gathering that underscored the union’s ongoing dedication to representing and advocating for Turkish Cypriot public servants.
