Minister Akar Urges Protection of Homeland, Nation, and Flag on May 14.
Turkey’s National Defense Minister, Hulusi Akar, who was recently nominated as a Kayseri deputy candidate from the AK Party, has been interacting with tradesmen and workers while visiting factories in the organized industrial zone. At an event organized by the Chamber of Auto Craftsmen, Minister Akar assured the public that they are working towards safety and prosperity for all, while emphasizing national unity and undivided support for the nation and its 85 million people.
Minister Akar also spoke about the fight against terrorism, saying that they are continuing their pursuit of terrorists in northern Iraq, and have destroyed the camps used by them. He commented on the terrorists’ attempt to establish a corridor in the north of Syria, saying that this too was thwarted and that terrorists were buried in the pits they dug. He emphasized that the only target of their operation was terrorists, and that they had no issues with anyone’s ethnic, religious or sectarian identity. Minister Akar reminded everyone that the terrorist organization PKK is not representative of the Kurdish people, and that Turks and Kurds are brothers, who stand united as 85 million.
Minister Akar expressed concern that some political parties were offering support to terrorists, promising autonomy which would result in division. He urged the public not to break their unity and solidarity and not to lose their gains in the fight against terrorism. He warned that the leaders of terrorism are hoping for help in the upcoming elections, but he reassured the public that the nation’s foresight would not allow this as it is a matter of survival and security for a growing and powerful Turkey.
Minister Akar concludes by urging everyone to take care of their homeland, nation, flag and republic on May 14, without separation or indifference, in order to continue their efforts for the growth and strengthening of the country as one heart and one fist.
