Minister Bayraktar Assures Continued Support – Latest Update
The AK Party has made significant strides in the field of energy during its 22-year rule, according to Bayraktar, who spoke at the AK Party Üsküdar 8th Ordinary District Congress. Since 2002, the party has tripled the country’s growth in energy and invested approximately 100 billion dollars in energy production. Bayraktar emphasized the importance of reducing foreign dependency in energy and highlighted the goal of making Turkey energy independent. He stated that this independence will lead to a stronger economy and more competitive industry.
Furthermore, Bayraktar mentioned Turkey’s achievements in natural gas and oil exploration, noting that natural gas has been brought to 85 percent of the population in the past 22 years. He highlighted the success of the largest natural gas discovery in the Black Sea in 2020, with 710 billion cubic meters of natural gas in the Sakarya Gas Field. Bayraktar also mentioned the ongoing efforts to meet the natural gas needs of households and the significant oil discovery in Şırnak Gabar in 2021.
Additionally, Bayraktar discussed the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant, which became a reality under the AK Party government and President Erdoğan’s leadership. He emphasized the importance of Turkey’s role in stabilizing neighboring countries like Somalia and Syria and mentioned ongoing efforts in both regions. Bayraktar also highlighted the government’s commitment to reducing energy costs and supporting citizens in managing electricity and natural gas bills.
