Minister: Enemies of Hungarian Minority are Enemies of Hungary
Hungarian Minister János Lázár has made it clear that anyone who stands against Hungarians in the Carpathian Basin is an enemy of Hungary. These statements were made in an interview published by the Romanian newspaper Új Magyar Szó.
Lázár reacted to speculation in the Romanian press regarding possible cooperation between Fidesz and the Alliance for the Unification of Romanians (AUR) within the European conservative camp. He emphasized that in the European conservative political space, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán is an unavoidable figure.
Lázár stressed that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán upholds the values of rejecting migration, supporting families, and emphasizing national self-determination and sovereignty. He firmly stated that it would be a mistake to think that Viktor Orbán could be surpassed in the conservative sphere in Europe.
Furthermore, Lázár expressed that the Hungarian government’s policy is to stand against anyone who is an enemy of the Hungarians. He referenced rumors of a potential alliance between his party and Romanian nationalists in the European Parliament, firmly stating that whoever is an enemy of the Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania (RMDSZ) is an enemy of the Fidesz party.
He emphasized the need for Hungarians to unite to prevent the advancement of any party that poses a threat to Hungarians, and to support the strengthening of the RMDSZ.
Additionally, it was noted that the European Parliament is proposing to include hate speech and hate crimes in EU criminal offenses, emphasizing the need to prioritize the fight against such crimes.
