Minister Işıkhan: Our national income exceeded one trillion dollars
Minister Işıkhan recently met with business people in Arnavutköy as part of the Working Life Meetings in the Turkey Century program. The meeting, held at the Arnavutköy Nuri Pakdil Multi-Purpose Hall, was also attended by Arnavutköy Mayor Ahmet Haşim Baltacı, People’s Alliance’s Arnavutköy Mayor candidate Mustafa Candaroğlu, and various business individuals.
During the meeting, Minister Işıkhan discussed the current state of the Turkish economy. He highlighted the significant growth of the economy in 2023, making Turkey the fastest growing country among EU nations with a growth rate of 4.5 percent. Işıkhan also emphasized the government’s commitment to addressing the demands and suggestions of labor unions, NGOs, and chambers of commerce through social dialogue.
One of the key points made by Minister Işıkhan was the milestone achievement of Türkiye’s national income surpassing one trillion dollars for the first time in history. Additionally, he noted that the national income per capita has reached a record high of 13,110 dollars. Looking ahead to the upcoming 2023 data, Işıkhan expressed optimism about seeing the highest labor force participation and employment rates, especially for women and youth, since 2002.
Continuing his remarks, Minister Işıkhan pointed out the positive outcomes of the government’s economic policies, which have led to tangible results. He highlighted the recent credit rating upgrade by Fitch, an international credit rating agency, which reflects confidence in Turkey’s economic outlook.
In discussing the importance of local governance, Minister Işıkhan emphasized that the strength of the country is closely tied to the strength of its local governments. He praised the vision and leadership of local officials, such as Arnavutköy Mayor candidate Mustafa Candaroğlu, and expressed hope for positive changes in the region.
