Minister Işıkhan’s Last Minute Minimum Wage Announcement in Parliament

Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan has addressed several important issues during the recent budget negotiations. The earthquake that devastated 11 provinces and resulted in the loss of thousands of lives was a major concern for the Minister, who expressed condolences for the victims and praised the efforts of rescue workers and miners. In response to the earthquake’s negative impact on the business world, the Ministry has taken measures to support citizens, such as providing short-time working allowances and carrying out programs for the benefit of affected communities.
Looking ahead, the Ministry is committed to training qualified personnel in fields like defense industry, artificial intelligence, and space technologies as part of the 12th development plan. Additionally, the government is focused on increasing unionization and protecting the rights of minimum wage employees. The Minister also mentioned ongoing discussions regarding an increase in the minimum wage and the implementation of additional indicators for civil servants who are promoted to the first term.
Furthermore, the Ministry is dedicated to supporting working retirees and improving pension benefits in the new year. With these initiatives in place, Minister Işıkhan and the Ministry of Labor and Social Security are working towards a brighter future for the nation.
