Minister Koca confirms death toll rises to 12 in Diyarbakır and Mardin fire
A tragic incident occurred in the nearby villages and neighborhoods of Diyarbakır and Mardin, where a fire broke out, resulting in a heavy toll. Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca shared the devastating news on his social media account, stating that the number of casualties has risen to 12, with 78 people affected by the incident. Among the injured, 5 patients are still receiving treatment and follow-up care. Additionally, 3 patients, 5 of whom were treated in Diyarbakır, are currently intubated.
Deputy Minister Münir Karaloğlu mentioned that investigations are underway to determine the cause of the fire. Authorities are examining the area where the fire originated to gather more information and ascertain the reasons behind the tragic incident.
The fire, which was brought under control within 4 hours, caused significant damage and loss of life. With the death toll reaching 11, and 78 individuals sustaining injuries, the local communities in the Cınar district of Diyarbakır and the Mazıdağı district of Mardin are left reeling from the devastating effects of the fire.
