Minister Kurum Discusses Urban Transformation Requirements on CNN Turk.
Minister Murat Kurum announced a new campaign for urban transformation in Turkey. The campaign, known as “Half Us,” aims to transform buildings that are at risk in the country.
During his statements, the minister highlighted the importance of the campaign and how it will directly impact around two million citizens. He also explained that the campaign had received 91,752 applications, with 485,689 independent departments applying for transformation.
Kurum further added that more than one application can be made for a single building, meaning that every property owner residing in that building can apply. Once a 2/3 majority is reached, the transformation work begins in that particular building.
The Half Us campaign is part of a larger transformation project that the government has been implementing for the past 100 years. The initiative is crucial in addressing the issue of unsafe buildings and ensuring that citizens are protected in their homes.
The announcement of the campaign comes amidst the busy election period, where the government is working hard to address the concerns of its citizens. The minister reiterated that they were listening to the problems of their citizens and laying new foundations for a better future.
Finally, Kurum conveyed his best wishes to the residents affected by the recent earthquake in the Göksun district of Kahramanmaraş. The government will continue to work to support those affected by the natural disaster.
