Minister Memişoğlu releases statement on newborn gang investigation
Minister of Health Kemal Memişoğlu has spoken out against the ‘Newborn’ gang, stating that the government will not tolerate illegal activities. The Minister emphasized that the health system in Turkey is among the best in the world and will not allow any wrongdoing or unethical practices to tarnish its reputation.
Memişoğlu addressed the situation by saying, “Unfortunately, there are those who seek to undermine the values of our country through criminal activities. We are taking the necessary steps to combat this issue and ensure that justice is served. The public deserves to see justice served for the victims of the newborn gang.”
The Minister revealed that the crackdown on the gang started in May 2023, following a tip-off from the Provincial Health Directorate. As a result of the investigation, several individuals, including healthcare workers, were arrested for their involvement in the illegal organization. The legal process is ongoing to bring all responsible parties to justice.
“We are committed to upholding the rule of law and punishing those who engage in criminal activities, whether they are healthcare workers or not,” Memişoğlu stated.
The government is working diligently with the Ministry of Justice and the internal security department to ensure that all individuals involved in the ‘Newborn’ gang face the consequences of their actions. As the Minister of Health, Memişoğlu reassured the public that the government is dedicated to protecting the rights and well-being of all citizens.
