Minister of Finance Özdemir Berova Visits Mersin International Port
Minister of Finance Özdemir Berova recently paid a visit to Mersin International Port (MİP) in Turkey. During his visit, Minister Berova conducted inspections and had the opportunity to explore the operations of the port.
The Ministry of Finance released a statement regarding the visit, stating that Minister Berova was warmly received by Deputy Governor of Mersin Port Civil Administration İbrahim Küçük and MİP General Manager Ajay Kumar Singh. Other notable individuals present during the visit included TR Free Zones General Manager Emel Emirlioğlu, TR Information Technologies Deputy General Manager Atilla Berber, TR Customs Deputy General Manager Nevzat Bozkurt, and Alara Selin Ünal from the General Directorate of International Agreements and European Union Trade.
Minister Berova was accompanied by several officials and delegates during his visit to Mersin Port. These included TRNC Mersin Consul General Zalihe Mendeli, Customs and Revenue Department Director Veysi Bozcan, Money Exchange and Development Fund Affairs Department Director Gürsel Gürbüz, State Real Estate and Materials Department Director Yusuf Kenan Yeşilleme, Private Secretary Kamil Ağcabay, and a delegation from the Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce (KTTO), composed of Deputy Chairman Ramazan Gündoğdu, Board Member Omaç Cin, and General Secretary Aysun Önet İleri.
During the visit, Minister Berova and his delegation received a comprehensive presentation from MİP, where they were briefed on the port’s operations. Following the presentation, they toured the port by boat and conducted further inspections.
In a statement, Minister Özdemir Berova expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to witness the operations of Mersin International Port, highlighting the visit’s importance. He also emphasized the significance of on-site experiences, particularly in regards to truck and container XRAY devices, customs automation, and the ongoing fight against smuggling.
The visit to Mersin Port served as a valuable platform for Minister Berova and his delegation to gain insight into the port’s operations and exchange knowledge and experiences with relevant stakeholders.
