Minister of Health Memişoğlu Announces New Era in Ambulance Regulation
Minister of Health Kemal Memişoğlu has announced the initiation of a new era in emergency health services with the implementation of the “Regulation on Ambulances, Emergency Health Vehicles and Ambulance Services”. This regulation, published in the Official Gazette, focuses on the utilization of risk management, informatics, and artificial intelligence to enhance the quality of health services provided to citizens.
In a statement shared on his social media account, Memişoğlu emphasized the importance of the new regulation in revolutionizing emergency health services. He highlighted the incorporation of live traffic data into the system, allowing for the prompt dispatch of the closest and most suitable ambulance team through an IT-supported mechanism.
“With the integration of mobile devices into all ambulances, patients will now be transferred to the nearest and most appropriate health facility using digital systems,” stated Memişoğlu. Additionally, the implementation of an IP camera system will enable real-time monitoring of all ambulances, ensuring efficient and timely service delivery.
The regulation also sets guidelines for the opening and operation of private ambulance services, aiming to streamline the process of transferring patients to suitable healthcare facilities. Moreover, the establishment of a rigorous audit system requiring institutions providing ambulance services to undergo at least three audits annually will ensure accountability and adherence to quality standards.
Minister Memişoğlu underscored the significant advancements in emergency health services achieved through the “Regulation on Ambulances, Emergency Health Vehicles and Ambulance Services”. The government’s commitment to improving access to emergency healthcare and enhancing the overall quality of services remains a top priority in the healthcare sector.
