Rescue Efforts Continue After Building Collapse in Konya
In a recent update to journalists, Yerlikaya confirmed that a 17-year-old young man was conscious after being rescued from the collapsed building in Beyşehir Street, Selçuk District, Konya. This marks the third successful rescue of a person from the rubble.
Yerlikaya expressed his happiness that the rescued individual was in good condition, but emphasized that efforts are still ongoing to reach the other two trapped individuals. The search and rescue teams are working tirelessly to ensure the safety of all those affected by the building collapse.
It was revealed that all five individuals trapped under the rubble are Syrians. Yerlikaya assured the public that more details about the victims would be provided soon.
The use of search and rescue dogs has proven to be a valuable asset in the ongoing operation. However, the presence of a stove in the collapsed building has presented challenges, as the ignition at the bottom has made it difficult for water to reach the source of the fire.
