Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin Announces Plan to Hire 30,000 Cleaning Personnel for Schools
Minister of National Education Ensures Additional Personnel and Security Measures for Schools
The Minister of National Education, Yusuf Tekin, recently made a statement addressing concerns regarding the shortage of cleaning staff in schools and the security measures in place. Tekin acknowledged the challenges faced by schools across the country and announced plans to address the issues.
In his statement, Minister Tekin highlighted the efforts to provide cleaning staff in all schools, stating that while nearly 45 thousand schools have permanent cleaning staff, the remaining schools were handled through subcontractors. However, a problem arose when the subcontractors became permanent, leading to a shortage of personnel.
To tackle this issue, Minister Tekin revealed that as of Monday, 30 thousand full-time cleaning personnel will be hired, ensuring that all schools have adequate staff for the new academic year. This decision comes after a re-evaluation of the situation and aims to alleviate the burden on schools facing staffing shortages.
In addition to addressing the cleaning staff shortage, Minister Tekin also discussed the security measures in place in schools. Working in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior, all schools have been analyzed for potential risks, with police officers stationed in high-risk areas. The Minister emphasized the importance of security and urged schools to follow guidelines to ensure a safe environment for students.
Furthermore, Minister Tekin touched upon the earthquake safety of schools, noting that classrooms built after 2002 adhere to earthquake regulations. Renovations and reinforcements have been carried out in schools built before 2002 to ensure their safety. Plans are in place to replace unusable classrooms in earthquake-prone areas, with additional classrooms to be built in the coming years.
In conclusion, Minister Tekin reassured parents that school registration fees are not legal and that all students have the right to be registered in schools. He emphasized the importance of providing a quality education for all students and pledged to continue working towards improving the education system in the country.
