Minister Şimşek Holds Meeting with Investors in Qatar
Turkish Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek recently visited Qatar to strengthen economic ties between the two countries. During his visit to the capital city of Doha, Şimşek held meetings with various Qatari officials and investors to discuss opportunities for collaboration.
One of the highlights of the visit was Şimşek’s meeting with Qatar Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdurrahman Al Thani. Following this meeting, Şimşek also met with Minister of Finance Ali bin Ahmed al-Kevari and Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) CEO Mansur bin Ibrahim al-Mahmud to discuss commercial and economic relations between Turkey and Qatar.
As part of the “Invest in Türkiye” program organized by the Turkish Embassy in Doha, Minister Şimşek also met with investors at a hotel in Doha. The event was attended by Turkish and Qatari investors, as well as key figures such as Doha Ambassador Dr. Mustafa Göksu and President of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sheikh Khalifa bin Casim bin Muhammed Al Thani.
During his meetings and speeches, Minister Şimşek highlighted Turkey’s economic goals, strategies for increasing direct investments, and progress in the economic reform process. He also shared insights on Turkey’s new economic policies and priorities outlined in the Medium Term Program.
Furthermore, Şimşek emphasized Turkey’s strategic advantages, regional and global economic potential, sustainable growth targets, and investment attraction goals. He encouraged Qatari business people and investors to consider Turkey as a favorable investment destination due to its strong growth performance and developed infrastructure.
After concluding his visit to Qatar, Minister Şimşek is set to travel to Kuwait for further discussions with Kuwaiti officials and investors. This visit aims to strengthen economic cooperation and explore potential investment opportunities between Turkey and Kuwait.
