Minister Soylu accused of plotting to become president with new tape
Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu spoke out about the withdrawal of Muharrem İnce from the presidential candidacy in Turkey. Soylu criticized the opposition, accusing them of getting involved in “cassette plots” with the instructions of the United States and interfering with politics using tapes from years ago. He also alleged that America is plotting to take control of Turkey through the elections. Soylu slammed the opposition, saying they have no shame, and warned that the country needs to make a decision on the future or the past. He went on to say that Turkey needs to move forward and embark on a journey of stability for future generations to live comfortably.
Soylu also spoke about the events that have taken place in Turkey in recent years, including the 17-25 December coup and the 6-8 October events. He accused the opposition of burning the East and Southeast of Turkey and destroying schools, libraries, houses and mosques. Soylu criticized Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, the Presidential Candidate of the Nation Alliance, for saying that he would release Apo, stating that “these folks will call you such a bye-bye” on Sunday evening. Soylu also accused the opposition leader of being the toy of FETO and America with his plots and looms and accused him of lying, slandering and deceiving people for twelve years.
Soylu’s comments come ahead of the presidential elections in Turkey, which will take place on Sunday. The election is expected to be tightly contested between the incumbent, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and his main challenger, Muharrem İnce. The election will determine the future of Turkey and the direction in which the country moves forward.
