Minister Soylu Addresses Alleged Audio Recording of EU Envoy-CHP Member Çeviköz
Turkey’s Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu has said that voters will make their decisions on May 14, and that the undecided will likely vote for stability. Soylu has also claimed that a member of the Republican People’s Party (CHP) informed the European Union (EU) ambassador of the party’s election policies after a meeting, an action which he characterised as spying. The Minister has accused the US of being the perpetrators of the 2016 coup attempt and has claimed that the US’s partnership with Turkey has been exposed. Soylu stated that Turkey is going through a struggle for independence but said that the country had already achieved independence in its energy and defence industries.
