Minister Tekin Visits Siirt to Evaluate Education Activities

He mentioned that they had previously visited Trabzon and Erzurum before arriving in Siirt by land in the morning.

He highlighted the importance of holding Provincial Education Evaluation Meetings chaired by the Governor and involving political actors and assistants to discuss the education system’s challenges and progress.

During their visit, Minister Tekin and his team also paid respects to teacher Şenay Aybüke Yalçın, who was martyred in 2017 as a result of an attack by PKK terrorists in Batman. They also discussed education processes for the upcoming summer months with the Siirt Governor and the Provincial Director of National Education.

Minister Tekin praised Turkey’s significant progress in education and training over the past 22 years, citing improvements in schooling statistics, student-to-teacher ratios, and classroom sizes. He noted that the number of students per classroom is expected to nearly halve by the 2024-2025 academic year, reflecting positive changes in the education system.

Overall, Minister Tekin’s visit to Siirt highlighted the government’s dedication to enhancing the education sector and providing better opportunities for both students and teachers across the country.
