Minister Tekin’s Contracted Teaching Interview Results Revealed!

Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin has released a statement announcing the results of the interviews for the recruitment of 20 thousand contract teachers. The process started on July 2 and ended on August 10, with delays due to lawsuits filed in the administrative judiciary regarding changes to the regulations.

The Ministry of Education clarified that appointments were previously based solely on oral exam scores, but a recent change reduced the weight of oral exam scores to 50 percent. This change led to legal challenges from various unions and individuals seeking to overturn the decision.

The Ministry ensured that all necessary precautions were taken to conduct the interviews objectively. Candidates were evaluated based on their teaching skills, professional knowledge, cultural background, communication skills, self-confidence, and representation ability. Questions were randomly selected for candidates through an electronic lottery, and scoring keys were provided to ensure consistent evaluation.

Despite legal challenges, the Ministry proceeded with announcing the interview results to facilitate the entry of new teachers into the education system. Candidates can access their results and scores through e-Government with their individual passwords.

Candidates have the opportunity to lodge objections to the results between October 28 and November 1 by contacting their provincial or district national education directorates. The objections will be reviewed by the oral exam commissions, with decisions expected by November 11.

The Ministry’s decision to move forward with the announcement underscores its commitment to transparency and merit-based recruitment in the education sector. Candidates are encouraged to stay informed and participate in the objection process to ensure fair outcomes.
