Minister Tunç Pays Respects at Funeral of Miner Killed in Mine Collapse
Worker Ferdi Tayyar, who tragically lost his life in a mining accident in Amasra district, was laid to rest in a funeral ceremony attended by Minister Tunç and other officials. The collapse, which occurred during gallery opening work, resulted in Tayyar’s untimely death in the mine. His body was taken from Bartın State Hospital to his home in Sütlüce village of Kozcağız town, where prayers and readings from the Quran were offered in his honor.
Minister Tunç offered his condolences to Tayyar’s grieving family and colleagues during the ceremony. The funeral took place at the Orta Mahalle Central Mosque following the noon prayer, and Tayyar was laid to rest in the family cemetery. The emotional event was attended by Bartın Governor Nurtaç Arslan, AK Party Bartın Deputy Yusuf Ziya Aldatmaz, and other notable figures, along with friends, relatives, and citizens who came to pay their respects.
Tayyar, aged 35, sustained injuries in the mine collapse in Tarlaağzı village and sadly succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The community has come together to mourn the loss of a hardworking and beloved member of their community. Tayyar’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, and his contributions to the mining industry will never be forgotten.
