
Minister Uraloğlu briefed on TRNC Highways Master Plan Implementation Project

Turkey’s Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdülkadir Uraloğlu, received updates on the progress of the TRNC Highways Master Plan Project during the visit of Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
As part of his delegation, Minister Uraloğlu visited the Nicosia Northern Ring Road and the Kyrenia Connection point to gain a better understanding of the ongoing and completed works in the region. Aykut Mutlu, Cyprus Affairs Coordinator of the General Directorate of Highways in Turkey, briefed Minister Uraloğlu on the various projects completed and those currently under construction as part of the TRNC Highways Master Plan Implementation Project.
Expressing his wishes for the success of the project, Minister Uraloğlu assured that they would closely monitor the progress and development of the TRNC Highways Master Plan Implementation Project.
Minister of Public Works and Transport, Erhan Arıklı, acknowledged the significant contribution of the General Directorate of Highways in Turkey to the development of the TRNC over the past 35 years. He emphasized the importance of maintaining existing roads and highlighted the need to enhance the infrastructure of the TRNC Highways Department, emphasizing that it should not solely rely on the Turkish Highways Department for all requirements.
The visit of Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz and the engagement of Minister Uraloğlu with the ongoing projects demonstrate Turkey’s commitment to supporting the development of the TRNC’s transportation network. The TRNC Highways Master Plan Implementation Project is expected to play a crucial role in enhancing connectivity and improving the overall infrastructure in the region.
