Minister Uraloğlu Delivers Speech at Opening Ceremony of Korkuteli-Elmalı Road
Minister Uraloğlu recently gave a speech at the opening ceremony of the Korkuteli-Elmalı road, where he highlighted the significant progress made in Antalya’s transportation infrastructure. He emphasized that the completion of the Korkuteli-Elmalı road marks a strong start to 2025, following the successful completion of other major projects such as the Aydın-Denizli Highway, Konya Ring Road 2nd section, and Kayseri Airport new terminal building.
Antalya’s reputation for its beautiful turquoise sea, historical cultural assets, and prosperous agricultural industry was also acknowledged by Minister Uraloğlu. He mentioned that Antalya is a leading agricultural export city in Turkey, with its fruits and vegetables being exported to numerous countries around the world.
Over the past 23 years, significant investments have been made in Antalya to enhance agriculture, tourism, industry, and trade activities. Minister Uraloğlu highlighted the completion of various projects, including the Mediterranean West Coast Road as a divided road, the opening of the Demirkapı Tunnel, and the construction of numerous road tunnels and junctions.
The construction of the Antalya-Alanya highway, designed to meet the increasing travel demands in the region, was also announced by Minister Uraloğlu. This highway is expected to provide fast, comfortable, and safe travel for tourists and citizens, while also benefiting the trade and agriculture sectors in the region.
Furthermore, Minister Uraloğlu discussed the expansion works at Antalya Airport, which aims to increase the airport’s capacity from 35 million passengers to 82 million passengers. The completion of this project is crucial to prevent congestion at the airport and ensure smooth operations for travelers.
In addition to the transportation infrastructure improvements, Minister Uraloğlu highlighted the ongoing projects to enhance yacht tourism in Antalya, with the construction of marinas in Alanya, Kaş, and Gazipaşa. These projects aim to position Antalya as a premier yacht tourism destination in the Eastern Mediterranean.
