Minister Yerlikaya Takes Action Against Misleading Information on Social Media
Minister Yerlikaya has made a statement regarding the recent argument between District Governor Burak Akeller and Imam MK in the Kulp district of Diyarbakır. The dispute arose during the Friday prayer sermon, leading to criticism and comments on social media.
Expressing concern about the rush to judgment before the investigation is completed, Minister Yerlikaya emphasized the need to wait for the outcome of the investigation. “The comments and criticisms made by some social media accounts without waiting for the result of the investigation are intentional,” he said. “We are following the issue closely.”
Yerlikaya went on to explain that the District Governor had intervened to ensure that the imam read the entire text sent by the Presidency of Religious Affairs, including the part regarding martyrs. Following the incident, the Ministry conducted an investigation into the allegations.
In addition, Minister Yerlikaya stated that action has been taken against those who spread misleading information on social media, emphasizing the importance of responsible reporting and waiting for the full investigation to be completed before drawing conclusions.
