Minister Yerlikaya Announces New Operation Against FETO in 23 Provinces
The Minister of Internal Affairs, Ali Yerlikaya, has made a new statement regarding the ongoing operations against the FETO terrorist organization. In his statement, Minister Yerlikaya announced that 47 suspects have been apprehended in the “KISKAÇ-35” operations conducted by the Gendarmerie in 23 provinces over the past two weeks.
Out of the 47 suspects, 33 have been arrested, while one has been placed under judicial control. The operations against the remaining suspects are still ongoing. Minister Yerlikaya emphasized that even after the death of the FETO leader, there is no room for relaxation in the fight against this treacherous terrorist organization.
The operations were carried out under the coordination of the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Gendarmerie General Command’s Anti-Terrorism Department, with the cooperation of Provincial Gendarmerie Commands in various provinces. The suspects were involved in activities within the FETO structure, contacting organization members, providing financial support to the terrorist group, and propagating FETO’s ideology through social media.
As a result of the operations, a significant number of organizational documents and digital materials were seized. Minister Yerlikaya commended the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Gendarmerie for their efforts in coordinating and executing the operations successfully.
The fight against FETO continues to be a top priority for the Turkish government, and operations will persist to eradicate the remnants of this terrorist organization.
