
Minister Yerlikaya Assigns Over 300K Law Enforcement Personnel at Start of Year

Minister of Internal Affairs Ali Yerlikaya recently made a statement on his social media account regarding the public order measures being taken in Turkey. He announced that from December 30, 2024, to January 2, 2025, a total of 309,819 law enforcement personnel have been assigned to ensure peace and security in the country. This includes 207,239 Police officers, 99,480 Gendarmerie officers, and 3,100 Coast Guard personnel.
Additionally, there are 36,527 vehicles deployed, consisting of 31,976 passenger cars, 3,853 motorcycles, 430 aircraft, and 538 marine vehicles. The Directorate of Migration Management is actively participating with 1,350 personnel and 270 mobile vehicles, while the AFAD Presidency has 4,200 personnel and 502 vehicles involved in the operations. The 112 Emergency teams are also on duty with 9,180 personnel to serve citizens in need.
Minister Yerlikaya emphasized the commitment of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to establish peace and security throughout the country. He urged citizens to contact the 112 Emergency Call Center if they witness or encounter any incidents that disturb them, assuring that the necessary actions will be taken promptly.
“Our security forces are on duty 365 days a year, both in summer and winter,” Minister Yerlikaya concluded in his statement. The Ministry of Internal Affairs remains dedicated to safeguarding the well-being of all citizens and maintaining public order at all times.
