Minister Yerlikaya neutralizes 2 terrorists, including one in red category
The Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya has made a new statement regarding the recent operations against terrorism. In the “BOZDOĞAN-50” operation conducted by the Gendarmerie and Police in the Dargeçit countryside of Mardin province, one terrorist named Taner Öğmen, also known as Herekol (K), was neutralized. Taner Öğmen was on the “August 2024 Ministry of Interior Wanted List of Terrorists” under the RED category. Efforts are still underway to identify the other terrorist involved in the operation.
Minister Yerlikaya emphasized that the fight against terrorism will continue relentlessly, with operations being carried out throughout the year, regardless of the season. The recent operation was a result of extensive intelligence work coordinated by various security units.
During the “BOZDOĞAN-50 operation,” which received support from J-SİHA and EGM PIHA, two terrorists were neutralized in an armed conflict with security forces. Taner Öğmen had a long history with terrorist organizations, operating in various regions and participating in activities against security forces.
The Minister congratulated the Gendarmerie, Police, and Security Guards involved in the operation, praising their bravery and commitment to protecting the nation. He reiterated that the fight against terrorism will continue until the last terrorist is neutralized.
