Minister Yerlikaya Rana addresses infant’s death in statement
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya addresses the issue of street animals following the tragic death of a baby in Konya. Minister Yerlikaya expressed his personal connection to animals, mentioning that he has three cats at home, all of which are microchipped. He highlighted the need to enforce the Law on Street Animals and reiterated his commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of both animals and humans.
Promising action, Minister Yerlikaya stated that in collaboration with municipalities across 50 cities, steps will be taken to enforce laws that reflect the wishes of citizens. He emphasized the importance of a humane and responsible approach towards street animals to prevent tragedies like the recent incident involving 2-year-old Rana.
As the Minister of Interior, Yerlikaya assured that provincial and district municipalities will take necessary measures, both administratively and legally, to prevent similar incidents in the future.
