Ministry Guidelines for Editing Animal-Origin Products
The Ministry of Commerce has recently announced that a new communiqué regarding consumer products containing animal origin parts has been published in the Official Gazette. According to this communiqué, the Ministry of Trade will now require information about the animal from which the parts are obtained to be provided to consumers, especially in textiles and shoes.
The Ministry emphasized that this information should be presented in Turkish in a clear and non-misleading way. It is mandatory for products containing animal origin parts to have this information visible on the label, packaging, or in a document accompanying the product. This requirement also extends to sales made through remote communication tools.
Consumers can now expect to see detailed information about the animal origin parts in the products they purchase, as part of the Ministry’s efforts to increase transparency and consumer awareness in the market. This move is aimed at ensuring that consumers are informed about the products they buy and promoting greater accountability in the industry.
