Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources Alerts Hunters to High Fire Risk
The Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources issued a warning to hunters regarding the high fire risk in forested areas. As the hunting season is set to open on September 1st, 2024, the Ministry emphasized the need for caution due to the prevailing fire hazard in forests.
In a statement released by the Ministry, it was highlighted that despite a decrease in air temperatures, the risk of fires in forests remains high. In accordance with Article 18 (1) of the Forest Protection Utilization Regulation, the Ministry urged individuals entering forested areas to be vigilant and take necessary precautions to prevent the outbreak of fires.
With the upcoming hunting season, it is crucial for hunters and outdoor enthusiasts to refrain from lighting fires in dry and flammable grasslands. Activities such as smoking, cooking, or any action that could potentially spark a fire should be avoided at all costs.
Furthermore, a ban on fires has been imposed from May 1st to October 31st, as per the law. This prohibition extends to picnic areas with fire facilities and will remain in effect until further notice. Additionally, motorists driving through forested regions are urged not to engage in behavior that could lead to fires, such as discarding cigarette butts.
In order to safeguard forests from the threat of fires, citizens are advised to comply with forestry department regulations and heed the warnings of forestry officers during inspections. By taking these necessary precautions, individuals can help prevent the occurrence of fires and protect our natural resources for future generations.
