Ministry of Foreign Affairs Statement on TRNC Citizens Evacuated from Lebanon: Body of Said Ezbek Returned to TRNC
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a statement regarding the evacuation of TRNC citizens from Lebanon.
According to the statement, in response to the conflicts between Israel and Lebanon, 24 TRNC citizens and their immediate family members, who contacted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey and its Representations in the region, were evacuated from the Port of Beirut. They were brought to the Port of Mersin by two ships belonging to the Turkish Naval Forces, under the coordination of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey and the Ministry of National Defense.
Tragically, one of the TRNC citizens, Said Ezbek, passed away due to a heart attack during the journey. His body was transported to Gülseren Military Barracks by helicopter and then transferred to the morgue of Famagusta State Hospital.
The statement expressed condolences to the family of the deceased and thanked Turkey and the Turkish Armed Forces for their support during this evacuation process.
