Ministry to Appeal Decision in ‘Sıla Bebek’ Case
The Ministry of Family and Social Services has announced that it will be applying for an appeal in response to the penalty given to the defendants in a recent case. The Ministry is seeking to challenge the decision in order to ensure that justice is served for both the defendants and the children involved in the case.
The Ministry is specifically focused on demanding that all actions taken against the defendants and children are done so with careful consideration and without any bias. They are also seeking to hold K.A’s father accountable for the “intentional killing” from his involvement in the case.
The recent case involved the death of a baby, with the mother BY BY being sentenced to 27 years and 9 months for three separate crimes, and 20 years and 6 months for two additional crimes. The children who were also involved in the crime were sentenced to prison terms as well, with GK receiving 7 years and S.Ö. receiving a separate sentence.
