Miraculous Home in Artvin: Survives Landslide Unscathed
Last night, a two-storey house in the Kanlıdere area of Ortahopa Neighborhood in Hopa district started to slide due to a landslide. The house slid 50 meters by the morning hours, but surprisingly, the structural integrity of the house remained intact.
Authorities from AFAD and local teams were called to the scene to assess the damage and begin recovery efforts. Hikmet Kapucu, the homeowner, mentioned that there was a shift in the house due to water passing at the bottom, softening the soil underneath.
Emin Üçüncü, the team leader of the Hopak team, stated that they received information about the shift and expert teams are conducting investigations in the area. Approximately 300 meters of land has been affected by the landslide, and necessary measures are being taken to prevent further damage.
As the community comes together to address the aftermath of the landslide, it serves as a reminder of the importance of being prepared for natural disasters and taking proactive measures to mitigate risks.
