“Miraculous Survival: 6 Workers Rescued After Van Swept Away by Flood Waters”

Six workers narrowly escaped death after their minibus was caught in heavy rain and rolled into a creek in Kırıkkale’s Yahşihan district. The incident occurred at night in Kılıçlar village, where the workers were returning from their night shift. The torrential rain caused the minibus to be dragged approximately one kilometre downstream before stopping after colliding with an iron bridge. The incident left the workers trapped in the water. However, they managed to reach the shore by themselves.

Upon receiving notification from the 112 Emergency Call Center, health and firefighting teams rushed to the scene. The six workers, identified as MAB (25), BC (37), MG (24), EB (42), Ö.K. (24) and GB (18), were transported to the hospital after being treated at the scene by medical teams. All six workers were reported to be in good health after treatment in Yüksek İhtisas Hospital and Medical Faculty Hospital.

Kerem Demir, one of the construction site workers who was also present at the scene, expressed his gratitude that no one was hurt during the incident. The Yahşihan Municipality Fire Department teams also checked the minibus in the stream. The incident is a reminder of the dangers of driving in extreme weather conditions, and serves as a cautionary tale for all drivers to be extra vigilant during heavy rain.
