Hungary Celebrates Modern Architecture and Tradition
Hungarian President Katalin Novák praised the works of Hungarian architects as a reflection of the modernity of Hungary and its people, as well as their respect for tradition. The president made these comments at an award ceremony held on Saturday to mark the Day of Hungarian Architecture.
During the ceremony at Pesti Vigadó, Novák emphasized that Hungarian architecture represents the connection with the past, the focus on the present, and the country’s openness to the world. She noted that the works of Hungarian architects are not only unique to Hungary but also possess a world-class quality that can compete globally.
The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of the state architectural awards, as well as the inaugural Karoly Kos Lifetime Achievement Award, which was awarded to Sándor Dévényi for his significant contribution to the field of architecture.
The event also showcased some of the outstanding architectural works through photographs, providing a visual representation of Hungary’s architectural achievements.
One of the photos displayed during the event featured a jaw-dropping look-out tower near Mickolc, which was recently completed, showcasing the innovative and impressive designs of Hungarian architects. Another photo highlighted the opening of a new luxury hotel at Podogókö, demonstrating the continuous development and modernization of Hungary’s architectural landscape.
The celebration of Hungarian architecture serves as a testament to the country’s ability to create world-class designs while preserving its unique identity and traditions. The recognition of Hungarian architects for their outstanding achievements further solidifies Hungary’s position as a modern and innovative nation in the field of architecture.
